About Premium Residency Program

The Premium Residency Program is a newly introduced residency status in Saudi Arabia, managed by the Saudi Arabia Premium Residency Center (SAPRC), a government organization. This program is open to non-Saudi citizens who meet the eligibility criteria defined by SAPRC. The Premium Residency offers various categories, including Special Talent Residency, Gifted Residency, Entrepreneur Residency, etc, each with distinct eligibility requirements and documentation. Holders of Premium Residency enjoy a range of privileges that surpass those available to normal resident visa holders, making it a highly attractive option for qualified applicants.

Project Goal

SAPRC approached our team to conduct workshops with Premium Residency holders. The purpose of these workshops is to gain deeper insights into the challenges, needs, and behaviours experienced by applicants during the application process and their life as Premium Residents in Saudi Arabia.

Our Approach.

We kicked off the project by understanding the Premium Residency Center services in detail by exploring the website and also going through the journeys of the main premium residency application services and the supporting services. We explored the survey results they already had. This gave us an initial understanding of the services and common challenges users faced.
We planned the workshop for 20 people and for a duration 3hrs. We started by defining the research questions that can provide us with the challenges, behaviours and needs users had while going through the application process and post application.
After multiple rounds design and iteration of the workshop process we came up with a final plan that will help us get maximum insights and ideas from 20 participants in the given time. The raw data from the workshops were analyzed multiple themes were derived.

What we Delivered.

We successfully delivered 2 workshops with the 2 premium residency users which is the Special talent residency and Real estate residency.
In the first part of the workshop we engaged with the participants with activity to brainstorm challenges for 3 key phases which is before starting the application, during the application process and after receiving the premium residency status. We gave prompts for each phase to get into details and think about the experience they had during the application. The challenges were noted on the challenge identification map we designed in Miro.
In the second part of the workshop we engaged with participants to cluster the similar and connected challenges and also dived into deeper understanding of the issue.
In third part we ideated solutions for the key challenges.

The Impact.

We analyzed the raw data and we were able to derive multiple themes with challenges, needs and user behaviours during the application process. And also ideas to solve some of the key challenges.
We created a consolidated research report consisting of challenges and opportunities and feasible ideas that could be taken forward for implementation.
With these insights the Resident Experience team at SAPRC were able to show the voice of residents through a evidence based approach to their C-level management that could create impactful changes to Premium Residency Services and life as a premium residents in Saudi Arabia.
